Our History
Jubilee Community Land Trust is an organization founded by Jubilee New Haven in 2026. In 2022, Jubilee New Haven helped a neighbor in Newhallville buy her home after she was displaced by a fire from the home she was renting. After seeing the possibility for community together to imagine opportunities for housing that is affordable, quality, and owned by the people who live there, we purchased 49 Sheffield, a blighted multi-family home.
We have been renovating the home as the anchor project for the Jubilee Community Land Trust. The land will be owned and stewarded by the CLT, and each unit will be owned by the family who lives in the unit. The house will be beautifully restored to its historic beauty, energy-efficient, and a wonderful place to live and call home. We are now collecting interest forms from people who would like to learn more about purchasing one of these units.
Living in a Jubilee CLT Home
As we complete the renovations of our first-home, we are looking for people to purchase and live in these units. Each of these units will be a newly renovated 2-bedroom unit in a beautifully restored historic home, with central AC, in-unit laundry, and hardwood floors. Here are the qualifications to purchase a unit:

In addition to these requirements, we are looking for residents who love New Haven and want to work with neighbors to build community and seek housing opportunities for others.
